Bulletin for Details
A group of compassionate parishioners of JGS have been in the process of organizing a benefit for Hunter Scott, nephew of Deacon Chad and Bobbi Martin. Hunter is 6 years old and has an inoperable brain tumor. It was hoped that his cancer would remain in remission but it has resurfaced. Your prayers and support are greatly needed.
Beginning next week you will begin seeing posters around Dunkirk and Prince Frederick advertising a fundraiser for Hunter with ALL proceeds going directly to the family for his chemotherapy treatments and mounting medical expenses. Although the organizers of this fundraiser are JGS parishioners, the church is not involved in this endeavor.
The American Legion in Chesapeake Beach has generously donated their hall for the event. The fundraiser will be held on Friday, September the 10th from 7 PM to 9 PM. It is anticipated that tickets can be sold after masses beginning next weekend. Adults $20.00 pp and $5.00 per child.
What can you do? All of the food for the fundraiser is being prepared by family, friends, co-workers, and JGS parishioners. Core dinner entrees, casseroles, vegetable platters, tossed salads and desserts are needed. If you can help, a sign-up sheet will be in the sacristy by the weekend for you to write your name, telephone number, email address and what you might be able to provide. Someone will get back with you once a final list is compiled. Monetary donations in the form of cash or check made payable to "Hunter Scott" will also be accepted.
Thanks to everyone in advance for your prayers for Hunter and his family.
Many Blessings,
Garnet Timbario
